(i) Disabled
students seats:
The admission of the
disabled students will be on merit in their category, as per
ordinance and subject to the production of following certificates
from a Medical Board to be constituted by the Admission Board:
- That he/she is a
disabled student.
- That he/she is
physically/mentally fit to carry on studies and perform professional
duties after qualifying M.B.B.S. examination.
(ii)
Under Developed Districts Seats:
1 Nishtar
Medical College, Multan.
2
Punjab
Medical College, Faisalabad.
4 Sheikh Zayed
Medical College, Rahim Yar Khan.
NOTE:- Additional
21 seats have been allocated for the candidates of under developed
districts already notified in the Prospectus. The distribution of
these seats will be notified separately by the Government of the
Punjab.
iii).
Students admitted against these reserved seats from under developed
Districts will be required to submit surety bond on stamped paper,
duly attested, for amount of Rs. 100,000/- and with an under taking
the he or she shall serve in the Districts of domicile for at least
three years or in default thereof pay Rs.100,000/- in lump sum.
iii)
FATA Seats:
There are 7 seats
reserved for Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The admission
against these seats will be made by the Government of NWFP as per
rules contained in the prospectus of NWFP Medical /Dental Colleges.
(iv) Azad Jammu
& Kashmir and Northern Areas:
Candidates belonging to
Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Northern Areas shall apply to their
respective Nomination Boards who will forward their recommendations
to SAFRON, Government of Pakistan. The Nomination Boards will
determine the inter se merit of the candidates from AJ&K and
Northern Areas for admission to the Ist year MBBS/BDS class of King
Edward Medical University and Government Medical and Dental Colleges
of the Punjab on the basis of Entry Test of Punjab and not NWFP.
Only those candidates will be admitted to King Edward Medical
University and others medical/dental colleges of Punjab, against
seats reserved for Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Northern Areas whose
nominations, together with the applications and certificates, are
received through the Federal Government. Direct applications shall
not be entertained. The Federal Government will forward nominations
alongwith applications and all documents to the Govt. of Punjab,
Health Department for their admissions. The candidates will bring
the originals of all certificates when reporting for admission.
(v) Foreign
Students seats:
(a)
Under Technical Assistance Programme: The applicants seeking
admission to King Edward Medical
University and
other Govt. medical colleges should submit their applications
through their own government /embassies to the Government of
Pakistan (Economic Affairs Division, Islamabad). The nominations
against these seats, shall be communicated to the Health Department,
Government of the Punjab, by Economic Affairs Division, Islamabad,
for onwards transmission to the colleges concerned. Applications
submitted directly to the Vice Chancellor/Principal or to the
Government of Punjab, shall not be entertained.
(b) Afghan
Refugee Students seats:
Candidates of this
category will apply to the Ministry of State and Frontier Regions
Division (SAFRON) through their respective Commission rates.
(vi)
Foreign Students seats on Self-Finance Basis:-
The applicants
seeking admission on self-finance basis will be required to
contribute to the university/college endowment fund in addition to
the normal fee. This contribution will be prescribed by the Boards
of Management of the Medical and Health Institution concerned from
session 2005-2006. However, such students will apply to the Higher
Education Commission, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad. The
nominations against these seats shall be communicated to the Health
Department, Government of the Punjab, by the Higher Education
Commission, Islamabad, for onward transmission to the King Edward
Medical University/colleges concerned. The students will pay the
requisite amount as mentioned above every year till the completion
of their MBBS course. In case a student repeats any class at his/her
own accord or fails in the examination, he/she will have to pay the
same amount as prescribed by the Board of Management of the
concerned Medical and Health Institution for each extra year.
Note I :
Students
admitted against self finance seats shall stay in the same category.
Note II:
The
nominations by the various governments/authorities against reserved
seats shall reach the Vice Chancellor/Principal of the college
concerned not later than the start of the session and the students
shall be directed to report to the university/college in the
beginning of the session on a date to be announced by the concerned
university/college.
Note III:
Admission will
be closed after a lapse of a period of three months from the start
of first year MBBS classes.
Note IV:
Application forms for admission of candidates from foreign
countries, shall be submitted along with attested copies of
certificates:
(a) Certificate of
having passed Intermediate Examination (pre-medical) with national
language, Physics, Chemistry (Including Organic Chemistry) Biology
and English as subject of the examination or an examination
considered equivalent to the Intermediate (pre-medical) examination
by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Islamabad.
(b)
In case of the foreign students a certificate to the effect that the
candidate can read, write and speak English fluently enough to be
able to benefit from the theoretical and practical classes should be
obtained from the Government or Ambassador or other competent
authority of the country concerned or from the Pakistan Embassy in
that country.

NOTE:
As a goodwill gesture, the Government of Punjab have provided ten
seats for Balochistan domiciled students to be nominated by the
Balochistan Government for admission in MBBS class in the Medical
Colleges of Punjab on unilateral basis. The distribution of these
seats will be notified separately by the Government of the Punjab.
The nomination against reciprocal seats will be communicated to the
Secretary Health, Government of Punjab by the respective Provincial
Health Secretary.
b) Admission of Punjab Domicile Students in other Provinces on
Reciprocal Basis.
Five students of Punjab Domicile will be admitted in medical
Colleges in Provinces of Baluchistan and NWFP as mentioned below:

Note: Applications submitted by students for admission in King
Edward Medical University and medical Colleges in the Punjab will
also be considered for reciprocal Seats. Separate applications will
not be required in this behalf.
vii). Self-Finance Seats:
(a).
Admissions
would be open to local and expatriate Pakistanis of Punjab domicile.
(b).
Admissions
would be on merit.
(c).
Fee shall
be Rs.2,50,000/- per annum
(d).
In case a
student repeats any class at his/ her own accord or fails in the
class/ University Examination, he/she will have to pay the same
amount as mentioned above for each extra year.
