The facilities / services provided by the department

Urology ward consists of 30 beds, 20 beds for males, 8 beds for females and 2 beds for procedure rooms. We are doing all the advanced surgical procedures with the endourological instruments like TURP, TURBT, URS & ICL, DVIU, Cystolitholapexy & cystolithotripsy, PCVL. We have state of the art Holmium and Diode LASER to deal with urological procedures. Our ward is providing 24/7 healthcare facilities to patients in outdoor, indoor as well as on Emergency basis. We are playing our role in Emergency to deal with patients of Renal trauma, urethral trauma, bladder trauma & urogynaecological emergencies etc.

we have an ultrasound machine available 24/7 in our ward which help in doing percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN) and Suprapubic catheter which are life saving procedures in case of Bladder outlet obstruction and Obstructive Uropathy especially in solitary functioning kidneys.

We are also performing AV fistulas on regular basis to help the Chronic Kidney Disease patients to cope up with Dialysis. Moreover we have Urodynamics machine and we are performing uroflowmetry and cystometry in patients on regular basis.

Achievements of the department

Our unit is accredited for training of doctors in FCPS & MS urology and we have post graduate trainees doing training in aforementioned programs. We have regular academic and clinical activities for post graduate trainees to polish their knowledge and skills.

We routinely organize surgical workshops for the post graduate trainees so that they learn new advancements in Urology.

We are urological faculty providing 24/7 healthcare services to all the indoor, outdoor and emergency patients in all urological procedures.

We have state of the art modular operation theatre with proper sterilization protocols. We have state of the art Extra Corporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL) to deal with renal and Ureteric stones on daily basis. We have state of the Holmium and Diode LASER helping in urological procedures.

We are offering all the open and endoscopic Urological surgical services to patients with state of the art Endourological Instruments Like Resectoscope; used in TURP and TURBT, Ureteroscope; used in URS and ICL of ureteric stones, Urethrotome; used in Stricture urethra, Nephroscope; used in PCNL & PCVL, Stone punch; used in vesical stone, Pediatric Cystoscope and Resectoscope; used in pediatric urological problems. We have state of the art Urodynamics setup where we do Uroflowmetry and Cystometry on regular basis.

We have Ultrasound machine to deal with the problems of Bladder outlet obstruction and obstructive uropathy helping us to do PCN and Suprapubic catheterisation.

Future development plans of the department

We intend to start new advanced procedures like RIRS, ECIRS, Laparoscopic surgeries and Robotic Surgeries.

We are also planning to get registered from PHOTA and start Kidney Transplant in our department.
